SOUTH CONWAY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT CUSTODIAN

Position Title: Custodian

Reports To: Director of Custodians and Building Principal

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Length of Contract: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.

SUMMARY:

The Custodian, under the supervision of the Custodial Services Director, in conjunction with the Building Principal, is responsible for maintaining a state of cleanliness in and around assigned building(s) of the South Conway County School District. The Custodian's primary responsibility is to provide a safe, clean environment for the learning community.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The Custodian will be evaluated by the Director of Custodians in conjunction with the Building Principal, in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates relentless commitment to safety, learning, and academic achievement of all scholars by actively participating in the Professional Learning Community Process and carrying out assigned responsibilities to contribute the mission of the South Conway County School District.
  • Demonstrates effective customer service to all district patrons.
  • Seeks to maintain at all times a state of cleanliness in those buildings that have been assigned.
  • Seeks to keep building in good state of maintenance and repair.
  • Keeps immediate supervisors informed of custodial supplies and maintenance needs.
  • Prevents fire hazards in buildings by proper preventive measures.
  • Supervises student help that may be provided by school officials.
  • Be responsible for the proper safeguard and security of buildings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Pass all appropriate background checks.
