Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Wheatland Tube seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to manage all quality and technical activities of the Blytheville, Ar. Plant. This person will work with other Quality Assurance Managers to ensure implementation and maintenance of a consistent quality system throughout Wheatland Tube and will report to the Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, quality audits/review, process engineering, etc.
- Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.
- Supervises Quality Assurance personnel at the facility.
- Manages the lab activities for the facility.
- Manage daily conformance to existing quality system and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Manages plant trials and other activities affecting product quality; including coating, steel and other activities.
- Manage the ISO quality management system.
- Manages the gage calibration program for the facility.
- Tracks and resolves steel quality issues and works with purchasing and peers to support vendor evaluation programs.
- Provides product and technical support for sales, customer service, agents and customers.
- Customer visits as required for claim follow up as well as proactive visits.
- Support other Wheatland Tube facilities as directed by the Director of Technical Services and Quality Assurance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of previous quality assurance experience required.
- ISO 9001 experience required.
- Experience working with pipe coatings, heat treatment and pipe finishing.
- Previously experience managing people.
- NDE experience required.
- Strong knowledge of production policies, procedures, and safety measures.
- Must have excellent:
- Leadership, planning, management, and motivational skills.
- Analytical, observational, and troubleshooting skills.
