Summary:
Job Title: Clerk (encompasses Media, Guidance, Office and Attendance areas)

Part Time Position

This position provides clerical support and assistance to the students and staff of the assigned school whether working in the media center, guidance office, or front school office.

Qualifications:
Media Clerks ONLY-All paraprofessionals entering employment after January 1, 2007 must be deemed "Highly Qualified" as defined in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2003. In order to be considered "Highly Qualified," an applicant must meet one of the following criteria:
Possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited college; or
Have earned 60 semester hours (or the equivalent) from an accredited college; or
Have passed a state approved test (Parapro Workkeys or Parapro by ETS)

Other Qualifications include:
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience working in an office setting required; with school office setting experience preferred
Ability and willingness to work well with others required
Strong communication skills required
Intermediate knowledge of computer systems/programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, databases, etc.) required; experience with Powerschool preferred

Responsibilities:
Maintain attendance, financial, student permanent file, supply or other records for the school depending upon specific clerk position
Assist the students, staff and parents as needed
Perform a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to, preparing reports, completing required forms, answering phones, assisting with student registration, establishing and/or maintaining student files, processing student transfers, copying, filing, faxing, typing, and communicating with students and parents
Attend intervention conferences (Attendance Clerks only)
Provide library services as requested by Media Specialist (Media Clerks only)
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Specific duties of the individual position will be further discussed in the interview

Reports To:
This position reports to the Principal of the assigned school, but in the instance of a Media Clerk or Guidance Clerk, is also monitored daily by the Media Specialist and Guidance Counselor respectively.

Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy.

Terms of Employment:
These clerical positions are paid on the Support/Annual Salary Schedule in Group I unless otherwise noted. Media and Guidance Clerk positions typically work 9 months (185 days) per year. Office and Attendance Clerks typically work 10 months (200 days) per year.
