POSITION SUMMARY As a Patient Access Clerk at Riverwood Healthcare Center, you play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient experiences from the moment they enter our facilities. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate the registration process with accuracy, efficiency, and empathy. You will be the initial point of contact for patients, gathering essential information, verifying insurance details, and guiding them through administrative procedures. What we are looking for: Education:#High School diploma or GED required; AA degree or a certification in the healthcare field strongly preferred. Experience:#One year customer service experience required; healthcare field preferred. One year of computer experience required; electronic health record preferred. Patient Registration: Collect accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and enter it into the hospital#s electronic health records system. Verification: Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and guiding them through the registration process. Coordination: Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure timely and efficient patient flow. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration, confidentiality, and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Problem Resolution: Resolve issues related to patient registration and insurance verification promptly and professionally.
