Overview
We are in search of a Procurement Specialist who has excellent communication skills to work with a number of our vendors and suppliers. If you are someone who has a strong attention to detail, we encourage you to apply. As the Procurement Specialist, you must have the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks as well as have a knack for analyzing challenges and exploring possible solutions. The Procurement Specialist will serve as liaison between the company and external suppliers, reporting directly to purchasing managers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns.
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings.
- Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Communicate with suppliers via email and phone, review and negotiate purchasing agreements, and research new suppliers to work with.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor s degree in business administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in procurement management within the food and beverage industry is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems.
- Ability to plan ahead and evaluate progress.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Strong mathematics skills and financial forecasting capabilities.
