Battery Assembly Technician


Job Details

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble cell pairs and modules in accordance with approved design data to include procedures and drawings
  • Assemble a variety of products ranging in volume from unique single piece units to repetitive hundred unit runs
  • Occasionally communicate and work with engineering to assist them in developing robust assembly processes
  • Perform rework on assembled components based on written and verbal direction
  • Complete build documentation records, both written and electronic, with a high level of precision and accuracy
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions to include visual inspection, dimensional verification and document review
  • Ability to work on live cells, modules and batteries


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Extreme focus and attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate observations, challenges and successes with production manager, engineering and customer representatives
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of DC electrical circuits
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and process specifications
  • Ability to operate various hand-tools and numerous other manufacturing equipment
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to adapt quickly to new methods and techniques, to learn quickly and can work independently or as part of team
  • Basic computer knowledge with some experience with Microsoft Office


Working Conditions
  • Class 10,000 clean room, temperature and humidity-controlled space
  • Safety glasses and Steel toe shoes required
  • Standing - 75%, Sitting - 25%,
  • Working with computer - 25%
  • Ability to lift 50lbs


Requirements
  • HS Diploma
  • 2 Years + Mechanical and electrical assembly experience
