Job Description: Maintenance Technician

Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role ensures compliance with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the site s business goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.
  • Machinist Duties: Perform simple machinist tasks.
  • Mechanical Skills: Utilize mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
  • Documentation: Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • General Maintenance: Perform plumbing and carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Tool Usage: Use various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Quality Control: Detect faulty operations and defective materials, reporting any unusual situations to supervision.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be loud, and the work environment may include wet, warm, humid, and cold conditions.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to sit; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  2. 4+ years of manufacturing experience with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills, some PLC experience, and HVAC knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: starting at $26 -$30 an hour

Schedule

  • 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
  • 1st & 2nd shift, with potential overtime and holiday work
