Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant III is part of a dynamic team in New Student Connections which falls under the umbrella of Enrollment Management Services. This position has the important responsibility of providing quality service to current and prospective students, parents, staff, faculty and other constituencies. This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties and supporting daily operations for the Office of New Student Connections which includes Orientation. The Administrative Assistant III is proactive and anticipates, and is a vital member of a team responding to internal and external demands. The candidate is expected to play a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. Position will also provide support to the Enrollment Management Services Division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success and diversity are essential attributes to this position.

Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with staff, faculty, and other departments and divisions across campus in the planning, scheduling, preparation, facilitation and implementation of New Student Connections programs, events and trainings.

* Assist with the enrollment background student approval process.

* Track budgets for departmental expenditures.

* Process invoices, payment requests, travel requests and reimbursements of expenses.

* Handle and maintain confidential information and records.

* Order and maintains department office supplies.

* Assist with managing daily operations in the office, answer phones, and other correspondence.

* Solve student/parent issues via phone, email, and in person.

* Participate in projects that support enrollment management services goals of the college and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED

* 3 years as Administrative Assistant or relevant office experience.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Banner Self-Service system

* Prior budget tracking experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

* Excellent communication skills.

* Strong organizational skills.

* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office products WORD and EXCEL. Working knowledge of other MS Suite products.

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Ability to make decisions without immediate supervision.

* Ability to be flexible with regard to weekly schedule and assignments.

* Previous customer service experience.

* Ability to handle a fast paced and frequently changing environment.

* Accuracy and attention to details.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* Strong commitment to multicultural ideals and valuing diversity campus goals.
