Safety Administrative Assistant - (Baton Rouge, LA)


Job Details

The Safety Coordinator provides assistance to the Onsite Department and Safety Managers related to health and safety and is responsible for maintaining all safety records; assist in monitoring, collecting and disposition of hazardous materials and procurement of safety equipment and supplies. This position also assists with all Onsite department customer requirements, training(s), credentials and assists in coordinating employee drug and alcohol test and DOT compliance. This position supports company operations to foster excellence in executing JM Test Core Values, following all system protocols in compliance with those standards (Quality, Safety, Risk Management, ISO 17025, State and Federal OSHA, DOT) regulations and company policies.

EDUCATION:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as required.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Previous experience communicating with internal and external customers.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures; filing, word processing, purchasing, creating reports.
  • OSHA 30 hour General Industry certification and/or related safety certification, preferred.
  • Previous understanding of DOT rules and regulations
