Location

Superior Township, MI

Purpose

  • Responsible for executing field actions related to safety defects and/or possible noncompliance with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Work with a cross-functional team to effectively and efficiently execute field action. Lead major system and process enhancements.


Major Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Hyundai groups to remedy safety issues by coordinating and launching field actions to customers.
  • Develop innovative technical approaches to process field action activities.
  • Assist in the development of the Global Field Action Management System to handle all activities involving the VIN.
  • Monitor field action completion rates.
  • Assist in the development of advanced outreach strategies to ensure completion rates.
  • Develop a suite of completion tracking tools.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure part supply availability and set up fair share allocation of parts plans for each region.
  • Prepare materials for senior leaders to keep them informed of progress and challenges


Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Work with related Hyundai groups to identify potential anomalies in field action performance and immediately trigger required deep-dive analysis.
  • Participate in Safety Decision Meetings as needed.


Authority

  • Position requires attaining and maintaining a high level of advanced technical knowledge about Hyundai vehicles and automotive components and the ability to create management level reports.
  • Using independent judgement to evaluate and validate field action repairs related to recall campaigns on safety matters.
  • Liaise with Hyundai design, manufacturing, and supplier affiliates.
  • Participate in the engineering reviews and resolution of the vehicle safety related claims.


Education

~ Bachelor's degree preferred
~ Master's degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Five or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in conducting timely field action launches to address equipment failure modes.
  • Three or more years of experience in the automotive business, including, vehicle safety, design, testing, field reliability evaluation, and service is preferred.
  • Automotive assembly plant or component manufacturing experience a plus.


Skills/Knowledge

  • Results-driven with excellent project and program management skills.
  • Ability to identify and utilize corporation expertise related to the issue under investigation.
  • Thorough automotive technical knowledge is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend federal regulations related to automotive safety.
  • Proficient in negotiating resources, timelines, and priorities to achieve project goals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with individuals.

$69,300.00 - $99,000.00 Annual
