Senior Commercial Litigation Counsel - Rapidly Growing Fintech
Our client is a rapidly growing fintech company specializing in providing Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) loans to small and medium-sized businesses. Their mission is to support the growth and success of businesses by offering flexible financing solutions. As they expand, our client is seeking a skilled Senior Collections Attorney to join their team and manage the collection of loans from business debtors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the collection of MCA loans from small to medium-sized business debtors.
- Develop and implement legal strategies for the effective collection of outstanding debts.
- Initiate and handle litigation processes, including drafting and filing lawsuits, motions, and other court documents.
- Negotiate settlements and payment plans with debtors and their representatives.
- Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update case files, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all collection activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities, outcomes, and progress to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including finance and customer service, to support overall collection efforts and resolve debtor issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the MCA industry, either at a commercial creditor or a law firm.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active bar license in FL
