Job Details

The Crisis Care Therapist works to alleviate or stabilize mental health symptoms of selected clients, which impairs their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability; provides therapeutic services to individuals, families or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as therapeutic settings by performing the following duties; provides crisis mental health services to children and adults within agencies, policies, and program context; utilizes human service principals in developing relationships and completion of assessments.

Work Schedule

  • Tuesday - Saturday 8;30 am to 5:00 pm


Sign-on Bonus Details

  • $4,000 sign-on bonus for Master Level and licensed eligible therapist
  • $6,000 sign-on bonus for a licensed therapist


The Mobile Crisis Therapist works to alleviate or stabilize mental health and behavioral health symptoms of selected clients, which impairs their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability; provides linkages to resources that will help clients alleviate the crisis. Crisis includes both adults and children.

Qualifications

Education

  • MA/MS in Social Work, psychology, counseling, or related field required; license eligible


Experience

  • 1 year of related experience preferred


Other

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance


Job Duties Include:

  • Provides crisis intervention response, assessment, and follow-up services as deemed appropriate per program plan
  • Conduct Crisis/Safety Assessment with an ETA of 90 minutes to respond in person.
  • Provides crisis intervention in-home services in wide geographical areas as appropriate to program requirements.
  • Provides active guidance/feedback during family contacts (i.e., during crisis interventions and other crisis stability events).
  • Handles aspects of intake as assigned per program need.
  • Provides transportation for clients within program guidelines.
  • Assists in the integration of all services provided for the client by serving as a central point of communications for service components during the crisis and in following if applicable
  • Provides crisis response mental health interventions and specific services according to the funding source (such as Medicaid) where applicable.
  • Organizes team during a shift if applicable.
  • Completes crisis counseling assessments, decision making, evaluation risk, mental health interventions, and supporting family unit during services.
  • Provides training and education to caretakers where applicable.
  • Mentors new MHP and case management staff.
  • Take clinical lead approach and assist in training MHP level staff.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
  • Selects and administers various psychological tests, personality inventories, and intelligence quotient tests, to identify behavioral or personality traits and intelligence levels and review results to evaluate client needs
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards in keeping with professional affiliations and demonstrates the ability to perform the strength-oriented practice
  • Provides comprehensive and initial diagnostic assessment of all referred clients utilizing interviews and well-recognized criteria


Required Skills Include:

  • Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
  • Ability to handle stress well and effectively de-escalate crises
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical thinking and handle decisions
  • Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality
