Directly supervise one of four operational crews at Rangeline on a 24/7 operation

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include verifying all line operator check sheets, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, providing assistance, guidance and supervision for daily projects and tasks, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and approving timecards.

Daily reporting, problem solving, process and equipment troubleshooting, operation of process equipment that is controlled primarily via an HMI, operation of some manual equipment, forklifts and other rolling equipment.

Operate and maintain manufacturing processes and equipment to control processes to maximize quality and output.

Use all resources available to cultivate a productive, positive and effective production team that emphasizes safety, quality, cleanliness and productiveness.

Formulate and communicate action plans, task lists and priorities for production team when line is down for scheduled and un-scheduled stops.

Formulate 5-S plans for assigned areas; assist in planning and executing these projects and tasks.

Work closely and maintain effective communication with maintenance department at all times to resolve, repair and prevent breakdowns, line stops, quality issues, safety concerns or any special cause variation.

Work closely and maintain effective communication with shipping and receiving departments to maintain orderly and efficient flow of quality product, quality raw materials, and other needed supplies.

Work closely and maintain effective communication with Production and Operations Managers, as well as Production staff in other cost centers, to deal effectively with all aspects of production and operations.

Work closely and maintain effective communication with HR department to deal effectively with all payroll, staffing and all other personnel needs.

Promote a daily practice of looking for cost savings ideas and behaviors from all production personnel, management, support staff as well as your own ideas.

Make a daily practice of thorough line inspection looking for any issues regarding quality, safety, maintenance, cleanliness or staff issues. Document and communicate any issues found.

Check production schedules and seek feedback from current shift supervisors in regard to problems or things that need to be done.

Prepare notes or provide direct feedback of any special problems that come up during your shift to incoming supervisors at shift change.

When problems arise with raw materials, sample plan or equipment, collect and analyze data to be used in correcting the problem.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Have detailed understanding of all paperwork processes.

Skilled level of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook. SAP and AutoCAD experience preferred.

High level of mechanical aptitude required. Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical issues.

Six Sigma Certification preferred. The successful candidate will be required to obtain Six Sigma Bronze Belt Certification and complete a Bronze Belt project annually.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee must be able to position self to operate, inspect, maintain, and repair all machinery and equipment on plant floor. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, and/or stooping.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
