POSITION INFO:
Primary function of this job includes handling pre-contract customer needs for processing export shipments. A critical function of this role includes understanding all government functions with the export and import of goods in regard to the filing and processing of required documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and understanding of cultural sensitivities.
* Negotiate freight rates with NIBCO approved Freight Forwarders.
* Coordinate Ocean and Air shipments with NIBCO approved Freight Forwarders and Carriers to achieve a timely transit and seamless product delivery.
* Adhere to the processing of shipments over $2500 with AES in the required timeframe to avoid fines.
* Strong understanding of Compliance with all government agencies (US Census Bureau, FTR, and Security - US Department of Commerce, etc.).
* Managing all orders including those with Letter of Credit terms.
* Ability to work on your own, set priorities, work under pressure, and use sound basic business judgment.
* Support Account Receivables with customer collections and reconciling client accounts.
* Responsible for documentation and final consolidation of orders to complete customer shipments.
* Analyze various correspondences including, but not limited to, orders, discrepancy reports, claims and sales information.
* Support other areas of organization on exporting and importing goods when required.
* Clearly communicate changes of U.S. and foreign shipping regulations and procedures to clients and appropriate persons within the organization.
* Establish and maintain a high level of product and technical knowledge to effectively meet customer service expectations.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous international export experience is preferred. Experience in documentation and letters of credit would be beneficial.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, but equivalent international exporting experience acceptable.
TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette skills required. Candidates must possess the ability to compose business correspondence and have strong grammar skills. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to exercise discretion in regard to international order processing to ensure compliance of all applicable government regulations. SAP and Microsoft Office.
