**Position: Working Team Leader**
Location: A820 - Hartselle, AL Sonoco Reels Wood Plant

While reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and working hands on along with a team to produce Sonoco Reels in Nail Wood. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have a safety first mindset with the ability to work within various teams, along with a good eye to spot defects in the work performed. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. **The shift available is 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift. The minimum starting pay for this position will be $21.76-25.11 per hour based on experience. Plus 2nd shift differential of $.75/hr and 3rd shift differential of $1.50/hr**
**Currently looking for one second shift team lead and one for third shift.**
New employees who join our company as Team Leads, starting **after 3/28/21** will be eligible to receive a hiring retention bonus totaling $500, $200 at 45 & $300 at 75 days of employment, with successful performance reviews.
Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Leading a Team of approximately 12 operator employees of a Wood Reel Manufacturing line.
* Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
* Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product
* Consistently providing expected deliverables and required administrative tasks
* Driving and inspiring team to improve performance to meet and exceed goals
* Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to setup new jobs and operate various manufacturing machines is very important
* Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area, Familiarity with 5S a plus.
* Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager and in support of Sonocos quality and safety policies
* Assisting other departments as needed
This position is in our Sonoco Reels plant in beautiful Hartselle, AL, the City of Southern Hospitality.
* 3-5 years prior manufacturing experience required, desire previous experience leading a crew/ team
* Previous experience in packing/warehousing preferred
* Written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to do basic computations.
* Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed
* You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements
* You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
* You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
* You will need to have demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude with the ability to logically troubleshoot and solve machine issues
* You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
* Desire examples of Leading Continuous Improvement Projects and experience with continuous improvement tools (Sonoco Performance System: SPS)
* Demonstrated the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvements
* Must have Knowledge of Computer Based Programs Word, Excel, Power Point
* Forklift driving experience is a plus
