Material Handler

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions, in partnership with a prominent plastics manufacturer in the Bloomington/Normal area, is seeking Material Handler sto join their team! This is a climate-controlled facility offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!

Summary:

Material Handler

Responsibilities & Duties

• Maintain flow of materials and containers in support of production.
• Finished Goods storage and organization.
• Pull, pack, stage or convert orders for shipment using a computer-generated work order or verbal instruction from supervisor.
• Package material for shipment according to shipping requirements and/or customer specified instruction. Ensure that all product/shipping labels are legible. Include job and order numbers on order tickets.
• Unloading of materials from delivery vehicles and documentation of material received.
• Loading of materials to delivery vehicles and associated documentation of materials shipped.
• Communicating with Team Leader/Group Leader to resolve material inventory problems
• Mixing of plastic resins, regrind, colorants and additives
• " Production Equipment Changeover Team Member". Responsible for material changeovers at press. Cleaning and loading of plastic resins and regrind.
• "Machine Maintenance Team Member " Responsible for Cleaning of Equipment and area.
• Maintain clean warehouse spaces. Includes sweeping and floor cleaning and dumping of garbage.
• Understand and utilize standardized work.
• Supports Team Members and Team Leaders.

Skills and Abilities Required

• Forklift experience
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment while balancing multiple priorities and maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of using: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Ability to work independently.
• Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day
• Ability to lift up to 55lbs

Skills and Abilities Desired

• HS Diploma or GED preferred
• 2 years production experience in a manufacturing environment
