A Typical Day

The Sr Human Resources Generalist is a member of a local Human Resources team and builds a strong consultative relationship with assigned client groups, acting as key point of contact, trusted advisor, and sounding board for managers, and employees. This includes the continuous assessment and monitoring of the organizational health of their assigned client groups, and the development and execution of various HR programs to drive employee engagement. Partners with HR colleagues and leaders to implement programs and initiatives directly aligned to business strategy in the areas of hiring, performance management, recognition, career development, organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent development, compensation, and employee relations. May identify and recommend initiatives to enhance business performance.



Job Responsibilities

  • Recruiting: Support the selection process for all location specific positions. This includes participating in the interviews and selection of candidates for hourly and salaried positions. Participating in job fairs and similar events, representing the company. May create and updates job descriptions.
  • Employee Benefits: Partners with the Benefits Specialist to communicate and educate employees on the use of company benefits. Assists with employee questions and communication of updates and changes to the HCC benefit plans, including health, life, disability and 401(K). Assists employees with completing benefit enrollment and change in status documents. Coordinates with the Benefits team on escalated issues, as necessary.
  • Employee Leaves of Absence: Partners with the Leaves Specialist to communicate and educate employees on leaves of absence. Communicates qualifications and eligibility of different leaves of absence options for employees and their leaders, in coordination with the Leaves team. Leads and participates in interactive process.
  • Employee Relations: Manage and assist with various employee engagement programs. Is responsible for maintaining an effective partnership with client groups to provide HR related information, answer questions and address concerns. Provide timely feedback to client group. Attends site department meetings to answer HR related questions and provide information on upcoming Company activities, changes or updates. Review and assist Supervisors with employee coaching sessions and corrective actions. Administer and communicate company policy. Conduct thorough ER investigations including preparing investigation summaries and providing recommendations. Owns the off-boarding process for client group by scheduling, conducting and documenting exit interviews and involuntary termination meetings.
  • Training & Development: Conduct initial and ongoing HR training to employees. By guiding new employee onboarding process in partnership with the Learning and Development team. Provides training and communication on HR policy and process changes. Consults with leaders and employees on safety and security expectations. Coaches and provides feedback on employee performance and career development, as necessary, assuring fluid communication with employees and their leaders.
  • Administrative Tasks: Is responsible for completion of hourly unemployment claim forms, responsible for management of all HR files. Manages employee transfers and terminations in HRMS. Coordinates posting and audit of compliance documents under the guidance of the HR Manager.


What You Will Need

  • Minimum of a High School diploma and 4 years of HR experience or a Bachelors degree in a Business field with 1 year related experience or a Masters degree in a related field of study.
  • Knowledge of the functional areas of Human Resources management
  • Well-developed professional skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource, Business Administration or related field.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification
  • Three years of HR experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment and proficiency in HR/employee database/systems


Physical Demands And Work Environment
