Top Professional Services firm headquartered in Boston, MA is looking for a Senior Manager to add to the Finance team. This position will be responsible for Management of the Finance and Billing team, as well as coordination directly with Leadership for reporting, client interaction, and company-wide finance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates directly with the Leadership team for reporting, client deliverables, and company-wide process / finance initiatives.
  • Communicates directly with partners, their assistants and clients as requested, including following-up on Billing revision and contacting clients as needed. Concisely communicates arrangements with Billing Partners and clients regarding their matters; provides clients with requested information on any special billing. Responds to all inquiries relating to same in a timely manner.
  • Review and/or prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required.
  • Reviews and monitors Billing transactions and activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to company policies.
  • Develops strategies and tactics to optimize workflow.
  • Addresses and responds to customer inquiries about billing, providing a high level of customer service.
  • Execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, and preparation of electronic bills).
  • Acts as departmental representative at various meetings.
  • Monitors timekeeping policies and procedures to ensure client guidelines are followed.
  • Oversees the Finance / Billing process and ensures successful monthly close cycle.
  • Manages, develops, and advocates for the Finance / Billing team; identifies areas of opportunity for individual team member's development and works with leadership and the team trainer to train and develop team members.
  • Conducts mentoring/development discussions with directs reports.
  • Maintains team expectations to ensure that they are understood by each team member and monitors them for compliance; evaluates direct report's performance.
  • Utilizes technology resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.


Requirements:

  • 8-15 years of experience in Legal / Professional Services experience.
  • Management / Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field.
  • Ability to effectively partner both vertically with leadership teams, as well as cross-departmentally.
  • Interest in growth & professional development.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boston on a hybrid basis
