We are on the lookout for a seasoned Permanent Project Accountant who is well versed with project cost-percent completion accounting in the Construction industry. If you are detail-oriented, enjoy working with numbers, and have a knack for identifying financial discrepancies, this job is for you! As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all the financial aspects of our construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling accounts. You will be working closely with our project managers to ensure that all financial reports are accurate and completed within the set deadlines. This role requires a strong understanding of General Ledger, GAAP, month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial aspects of assigned construction projects, including project cost-percent completion accounting.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Perform monthly and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project expenses, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the management team, highlighting key financial indicators and trends.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be considered an advantage.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in project cost-percent completion accounting.
- Solid understanding of General Ledger, GAAP, month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
