Our client, a global leader in material handling equipment, has an opening for a CNC Machinist at its Greater Portland area Manufacturing facility.
All employees start on the day shift for training, which is Monday Thursday, 5:30 am 4:00 pm before eventually moving to the swing shift consisting of four 10-hour shifts Monday Thursday 4 pm 2:30 am.

Qualifications include:
- A minimum of two years of true machining experience and/or a two-year Machining Technology degree.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Not requiring assistance with needing your employer to sponsor you for employment visa (ex. H-1B visa).
- Willing to take a drug test in accordance with local law & regulations
- Willing to undergo a background check in accordance with local law & regulations.
- Ability to start on the day shift for training, which is Monday Thursday, 5:30 am 4:00 pm.
- Ability to eventually move to the swing shift consisting of four 10-hour shifts Monday Thursday 4 pm 2:30 am.
- Working knowledge of how to fix your machine vs always waiting for maintenance to come.
- Horizontal mill setup experience -Preferably FANUC Controls.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- A good understanding of CNC G & M code.
- The ability to follow directions/instructions step-by-step and have a working knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling.
- Ability to Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions.
- Ability to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and other lifting devices.
- Experience in Machine Shop Math.
- Able to successfully perform routine preventative equipment maintenance daily.
- Maintaining a work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Job Details:
- Operate machine while proving out new programs.
- Check tooling, setups, program coordinates, and any other information to ensure a quality
- part. Make all corrections as needed by editing program.
- Make necessary notations for changes or corrections in control.
- Make suggestions for further improvements in program to shorten run times.
- Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Operation involves loading, unloading, and pre-positioning work in fixtures, as well as checking parts for conformity with dimensional specifications using fixed gages and calipers.
- Remain constantly alert to detect improper machining.
