Accounts Payable Clerk - YMCA of Dane County

This position supports the Accounting and Operations teams of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Dane County YMCA creates a welcoming and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while receiving and maintaining all information pertaining to the Billing of our accounts.
We will train general ledger and accounting functions. Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting tasks such as entering data, entering reports, and maintaining financial records
- Perform daily reconciliations of accounts
- Prepare bank deposits
- Process invoices for payment
- Provides overall accounts payable management
- Maintains responsive and cooperative relationships within the organization and vendors.
- Researches and resolves discrepancies between the purchase order and invoice amount. Responds to vendor and branch requests for information related to accounts payable.
- Closely works with the Accounting Manager during the month/year-end process.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Will train general ledger and accounting functions. - Associate's Degree
- 1+ years Accounts Payable experience
- Experience in data entry with advanced Excel knowledge.
- Adaptable to new software and process changes.
- Able to grasp new concepts quickly and implement them.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good time management and self motivated
- Critical Thinking & Decision Making
