POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Job Summary:

The Facility Coordinator ensures all equipment at Emergency Intake Site facility is operating correctly.

The Facility Coordinator offers support to the residents of a shelter by ensuring equipment is operating correctly. A general summary of responsibilities includes completing hour checklist, reporting any facility issues to the proper department, submitting work orders, conducting periodic PMCs, and basic level facility maintenance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete hourly checklist, including temperature and safety checks.
  • Submit and track work orders for facility maintenance issues.
  • Contract subcontractor for non-facility maintenance issues.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs as necessary.
  • Coordinate fueling and DEF for generators.
  • Participate with emergency preparedness.
  • Sanitize cots and footlockers as required.
  • Issue supplies to residents and staff as needed.
  • Provide required reports to the Site Supervisor.
  • Maintain positive, supportive, and respectful resident relations.
  • Follow and enforce shelter guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
  • 2 years experience in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be compassionate and firm towards shelter residents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and other staff members.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Office products, specifically, Outlook email, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail to procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift during the week including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Previous experience working in a shelter environment.


Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
