Venteon Finance is hiring a Sr. Accountant to provide support for a large commercial excavating and utility company in the Metro Detroit area. Provide oversight for the monthly financial close process, produce and analyze reports and financial statements.
POSITION TYPE: Full time. Direct Hire. Onsite.
PAY: $32.00 to$40.00 per hour depending on education and skill level.
Requirements of the Sr. Accountant:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
5+ years or more of related experience required.
Private equity experience a plus. Mergers & Acquisition and integration experience a plus.
Experience using MS Offfice including Excel and a large ERP system is required.
Accounting experience within the utility construction or manufacturing industries a plus.
Supervisory capability.
Duties of the Sr. Accountant:
Manage accounting staff performing AP, AR, etc.
Coordinate accounting tasks, including monthly/quarterly/annual close, A/R, Billing, A/P, and financial reports with support from the Controller.
Review outstanding receivables and payables, resolve escalated issues.
Review cash balances.
Prepare weekly Accounts Payable run and disburse payments.
Performs general ledger accounting and month end closing activities. Reconciliation of accounts.
Assists in external financial statement audits and tax compliance.
Implement internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Prepares business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
File non-income tax returns (sales/use, excise, personal property, etc.).
Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
Provides ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
