Mackenzie Stuart are currently partnered with a leading Personal Care Product Manufacturer seeking a Plant Manager.


The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all plant and production operations, including manufacturing, filling, planning, warehouse management, and scheduling. This role involves planning, implementing strategies to optimize workforce and material utilization, and leading the production team to ensure safe, efficient operations while enhancing plant performance and profitability.


Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage daily production, planning, filling, warehouse, and maintenance operations, coordinating with the Purchasing Manager on forecasting.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and optimize daily production and warehouse operations to exceed customer expectations through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Implement strategies aligned with strategic initiatives, providing clear direction and focus.
  • Develop systems and processes with the General Manager to track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure a return on assets.
  • Ensure compliance of all production operations with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations, including ISO and FDA standards.
  • Coordinate production activities with other internal departments and maintain effective relationships with external regulatory agencies and clients.
  • Review manufacturing performance, evaluate strengths and weaknesses, and ensure goals and objectives align with client and company targets.
  • Lead manufacturing operations, including safety, production and warehouse efficiency, quality, customer service, employee development, and financial performance.
  • Foster an energized, engaged, and motivated working environment, promoting team building and succession planning to reduce turnover.


To be considered for the role, the following education, experience and qualifications are required:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a skincare manufacturing/production/warehouse environment, with extensive employee management and collaboration with internal departments.
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement successes and efficiencies.
  • Experience in coaching, training, team building, performance development, and conflict resolution.
  • BS degree in Chemistry or related field, or 5 years of equivalent work experience in a chemist role preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
