Position Summary

The Gift Processing Specialist is responsible for processing charitable contributions to the Gary Sinise Foundation in a timely manner, maintaining constituent data, and generating charitable tax receipts. This role is part of the Office of Philanthropy and collaborates closely with the Office of Finance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Enter gifts, pledges, and transactional information into the donor database.
  • Process electronically batched gift entries.
  • Generate timely charitable receipts and donor acknowledgments.
  • Record complex transactions (e.g., pledges, planned gifts, in-kind and stock gifts).
  • Run and distribute daily and weekly internal reports.
  • Manage relationships with back office and third-party partners.
  • Verify and update donor biographical information.
  • Scan and link revenue documentation.
  • Undertake database clean-up projects.


Additional Duties

  • Manage pledge payment reminders, tax receipts, recurring gifts, and automated pledge payments.
  • Ensure proper entry, allocation, and documentation of donations.
  • Assist with donor relations and donor line duties.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree with 2+ years of financial administrative experience, or High School Degree with 10+ years of direct nonprofit foundation experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • Nonprofit experience is helpful.


Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with donor databases and data entry processes.


Work Environment

  • In office, on site role with standard hours of 8am-5pm CDT; flexible hours may be required for events.
  • Some travel (up to 10%) may be necessary, with occasional nights and weekends.
