We are seeking a full-time, board-certified Geneticist, Clinical Laboratory Director specialized in Pediatric, Reproductive, Immunological, or Metabolic Genetics to lead our laboratory into its next phase of growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the company and collaborate with a team of genetic counselors, bioinformaticians, engineers, and statistical geneticists to deliver critical information to patients and clinicians.

*This role is based in Triangle Park, North Carolina. If you are not local, relocation assistance, bonus can be offered.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to deliver the laboratory mission.
  • Drive tactical actions to execute the strategic plan.
  • Co-create the product offering roadmap for new clinical offerings as we expand screening capabilities.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage the expansion of our screening capabilities.
  • Design and review validations for new screens and other initiatives such as laboratory relocations.
  • Maintain current licenses and lead efforts to acquire new ones, including New York State licenses.
  • Review and sign out clinical cases.
  • Provide consultations on results for referring physicians and genetic counsellors.
  • Work with the Director of Laboratory Operations to establish and maintain quality control and quality assessment programs.
  • Ensure acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. or Ph.D. in a biological science field with ABMGG or CCMG board certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics required.
  • Qualified as a Director for high complexity testing under CAP.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience directing or supervising high complexity testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory.
  • Experience in molecular testing for immunological, pediatric, metabolic disorders, or reproductive health preferred.
  • Proficiency in sequence and copy number variant interpretation and next-generation sequencing.
  • Demonstrated collaborative spirit and willingness to learn.
  • High attention to detail and superior organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage expertise across a variety of project types.
