SUMMARY
The Fashion Designer will be part of the Global Design and Innovation team and is responsible for evaluating global insights and trends into appropriate and innovative solutions across numerous juvenile product categories. This person will be involved in creating and leveraging the company s annual style guide across multiple brands to achieve outstanding and industry leading results which appeal to customers across the globe.
Mastery of advanced material and surface concepts from initial brief to final sample realization is a must The Fashion Designer is required to have excellent technical skills, be detail oriented and effectively collaborate with members of the internal cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Create new original artwork (print and patterns) in repeat that follow market trends and can be used and applied to products.
Communication of ideas is a must, convey the story of how concepts were developed and create pitches for product/collection ideas with storyboards, trend/mood boards, drawings, sketches, and high-quality renderings or animations.
Interpret and apply both trends and insights into excellent forward-thinking product design.
Create renderings and material mock-ups to communicate design intent, evaluate overall aesthetic of design, material application and function.
Drive projects from inception to completion while balancing the design intent with constraints like cost, manufacturing processes, and stakeholder inputs/needs.
Create drawings, sketches, and renderings to convey new concepts and ideas to engineering, marketing, packaging, and management.
Prepare design specifications and product descriptions including Color Material & Finish (CMF) and soft- goods construction details to document the construction of prototypes and for manufacturing release.
Participate and lead in formal and informal reviews and brainstorming sessions to generate new product ideas.
Support pre-production efforts, including approvals of tooling drawings, fabric samples, and pilot runs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in design field is preferred, including internships or co- ops.
Requires attention to detail, excellent aesthetic sense for color, materials and finishes, and high levels of cooperation and teamwork.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
An undergraduate degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Textile and Apparel Design, or equivalent work experience is required.
Strong visualization skills in 2D and 3D
Ability to interpret business need goals and action favorable results.
Good understanding of manufacturing materials and processes
Strong time-management skills
Must be team oriented
Excellent communication skills both internally and externally with vendors (or with our international teams)

Must be Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Illustrator, Photoshop, etc (required)
Basic Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel, Powerpoint (required)
Parametric modeling software Creo / Autodesk (optional)
3D visualization software Bunkspeed /Keyshot (preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or listen.
