Title: Agile Product Owner (Data Warehouse Team)
Client: Major Consulting Client
Engagement: 12-month contract (Expected FTE Conversion)
Location: Englewood, CO or Lower Manhattan, NYC (2 openings)
Compensation: $135-$140k/yr. + benefits
Included: As a Brooksource consultant working directly with our client, you will be a W2 employee with full-time 40 hour work week. Comprehensive benefits (health, vision, dental), paid holidays, & sick time accrual is available to all employees on contract. Upon FTE conversion, the client's benefits package will take over.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner with a strong background in data warehouse to join our team. As an Agile Product Owner, you will be responsible for working directly with the business to develop the full backlog for an existing data warehouse squad supporting a line of business, uncovering missing backlog items, and owning these items from start to completion. You will need to be willing to challenge and navigate around current processes that may be impeding communications between the business and data warehouse squad. Your expertise in data warehouse will enable you to effectively communicate with technical teams and stakeholders, drive the development of data-driven products that meet business needs, and ensure the agile squad is working on the correct priority items.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the business to develop a comprehensive backlog of data warehouse requirements, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and business intelligence, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, release plans, and iteration plans that align with business objectives and stakeholder needs
- Communicate product plans, progress, and results to stakeholders, including executives, customers, and team members
- Facilitate sprint planning, ensuring the agile squad is working on the correct priority items, and showcase demos to the business each iteration
- Own backlog items from start to completion, pushing issues to closure and managing risks as a project manager would
- Ensure that the product is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the required quality standards
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in data warehousing and analytics
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a product ownership role, with a focus on data warehouse and analytics
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and data governance
- Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Experience with Jira
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions, such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake
- Knowledge of data engineering tools, such as Apache NiFi, Apache Beam, or AWS Glue
- Certification in agile methodologies, such as CPO or CSPO
- Master s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
