Business Development Manager


Job Details

We are helping a global meat company identify a talented individual for a Business Development Manager position in the Southeast.


This critical role is responsible for driving top-line and bottom-line results for retail and grocery product lines, managing P&L to maximize margins, improving marketing strategies, and providing solutions for pricing, promotion, and revenue management. Supports sales team with category management and sales forecasts, reviews financial information, and manages inventory to reduce distressed sales.


Essential Functions:

  • Revenue & Margin Management: Develop customer programs, execute revenue targets, support pricing actions, and deliver volume within targets.
  • Planning:Develop and implement pricing and promotion strategies, create account plans for trade spending, analyze product mix, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Forecasting: Facilitate sales and business forecasts, review for consensus, and manage alert/distressed products.
  • Category Management: Train sales force on syndicated data, support data requests, analyze trends, and identify opportunity gaps.
  • Cost Management: Review cost files for pricing actions, manage ROS, estimate costs for new products, and identify cost improvement opportunities, conduct SKU rationalization.
  • New Product Coordination: Develop sales estimates, assist in marketing tools, create production forecasts, and deliver sales volume within targets.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend sales calls for pricing and data analysis
  • Present market data at quarterly meetings
  • Assist in annual financial and marketing planning


Education and Experience:

  • Business degree in Marketing or Management
  • 5-7 years of retail/CPG experience
  • 3-5 years of field sales and trade management or business development experience
