Senior Estimator


Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in our organization, responsible for accurately estimating costs for construction projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation: Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.

2. Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and competitive within the market.

3. Project Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.

4. Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

5. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

6. Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, comparing actual costs to estimated costs and identifying areas for improvement.

7. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with cost estimation, including market fluctuations, labor shortages, and unforeseen project challenges.

8. Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address concerns, clarify requirements, and provide updates on cost estimates.

9. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, sharing industry knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise.

10. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in construction technology, and regulatory changes to continuously improve estimating processes and outcomes.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction cost estimation, with a focus on commercial projects.

3. Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating.

4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project plans and specifications.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

6. Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading and mentoring junior team members.

7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

8. Knowledge of construction industry standards, building codes, and regulations.

9. Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Estimator (CCE) preferred.
