In this role, the operator will be working side by side on the ground with the ground crew as well as operate a forklift and/or a combi-lift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Pull lumber and or distributed products from racks (utilizing a forklift or combi-lift) and stage them for ground crew.
- Restock racks (utilizing a forklift or combi-lift) from other warehouses as required.
- Keep material stacked evenly, safely and in an organized manner.
- Work with ground crew to restack lumber for customer orders.
- Be able to identify all different sizes and treatments of lumber that is manufactured at the plant.
- Responds promptly to customer and plant needs through the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks.
- Is consistently at work and on time. Uses time efficiently.
- Maintains organization of product in all warehouses.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
- Able to read and interpret written information; Able to effectively communicate with supervisor, and other employees as needed within the scope of the job.

- Assists in housekeeping and clean-up activities as needed.
- Assists in picking up lumber and other materials due to spills.
- Qualifications:
- Must have previous forklift experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Have experience in using a computer in a work environment and a scan gun.
- Be able to communicate effectively. Have clear command of the English language.
- Be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, get on and off lift and restack lumber.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Be flexible and able to work overtime as needed. In season 2-12 hr. shifts and every 3rdSaturday mandatory.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Lumber experience a plus!
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
