ASRC Federal Field Services provideslogistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETCFederalComplex off of Spruill Avenue).We are looking for Grill Cooks.

Duties:

• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff by reading and following standardized recipe and directions.
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.
• Clean up station, then label and store leftover food
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef and Cooks to prepare meals during our dining hours.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Rotate food inventory as required by established procedures.
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
• Follow Safety Rules and Standards
• Work schedule will vary but shifts will be weekdays and weekends ranging from 11am-8pm. Holidays may be required.

Requirements

• 1 year or more cooking experience in a professional setting
• Must have current ServSafe Certification
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work quickly in a professional kitchen with the knowledge of how to read and mix for food service items, use commercial kitchen equipment and check thermometers correctly and accurately
• Ability to work in both cold and hot environments
• Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen over age 18
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Must pass a background investigation and physical exam
• Detail-orientedquality and precision-focused
• Team-orientedcooperative and collaborative
• Must be punctual and have great attendance
