Brand Manager


Job Details

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Brand Manager to manage one of their most recognizable brands. You ll be responsible for driving the continued success of the category and the overall promotion of the brand while growing our market position, brand sales and profitability. New product and program development is a key portion of the role where you ll continually look for trends and opportunities to expand to relevant markets while managing the creation and launch of new products and programs. Knowledge of market peers and competitive price strategies is a fundamental area of the position. Strong relationships with key customers and company management will be vital to the position as well as maximizing brand awareness and customer appeal.


The ideal candidate has significant experience in understanding wholesale and retail distribution of the category. A working knowledge of dealer or retailer needs, and a firm comprehension of marketing and sales principles is critical to the success of the position. Exceptional communication skills, forwarding thinking, adaptability and leadership are key attributes of the right candidate.

You ll work cross-departmentally as the brand expert and to enable the sales teams to succeed in meeting the growth objectives. The position is very autonomous, but regular departmental and supervisor check-ins will keep you plugged in without feeling siloed.


Key Responsibilities

Serve as the expert and passionate advocate for the brand

Manage short-term and long-term development strategies for new and existing products

Serve as the stakeholder in managing relationships with Tier 1 and key customers

Design and deploy sales enablement programs to consistently increase sales and revenue performance

Be the key stakeholder to deliver on goals and initiatives and report on KPIs weekly and monthly

Develop and implement training programs internally and externally on new and existing products and programs to drive sales and revenue performance

Collaborate with marketing team to determine marketing and promotional activities of products and programs

Work in partnership with internal and external teams in the development of new products and category expansion opportunities

Manage new product forecasts and sales plans

Manage departure planning for unsuccessful products

Perform regular competitive reviews on products and programs to maximize positioning in the market with focus on increasing new and existing business and remaining competitive

Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure goals and initiatives are met

Report monthly on status of your brand(s) and products

Promote the brand at both retail and dealer trade shows and events

Study industry insights to determine trends and opportunities

Leverage customer and channel growth opportunities through our global distribution

Professional Experience/Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years successful sales/management experience.

A practitioner of solution-based selling, able to develop and communicate the appropriate value proposition for each major customer/product category.

Must have a track record of building and coaching solid sales teams and achieving strong growth in Strong background in automotive aftermarket specialty category

Exceptional ability to understand buyers needs and to translate them into programs to meet those requirements

Demonstrated background in wholesale tire distribution

A proven track record of successful career performance meeting and exceeding sales goals and expectations

Ability to cross-functionally manage the product development cycle

Experience with e-commerce and retail dynamics in the off-road or specialty tire segment is a plus

Strong experience and knowledge of retail and wholesale sales and marketing principles preferred

Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously

An analytical mind with a strategic approach to sales and program management

Proficient in MS Office

Demonstrated ability with project management software, preferably Asana

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to complete projects within projected timelines

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Travel as needed, approx. 20%
