Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention Manager (Registered Nurse)


Job Details

Mary's Woods is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as our Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention Manager to lead and develop our campus Quality Improvement Program. As part of our team, you will play a key role in leading and developing our Quality Improvement Program, collaborating closely with the Clinical Nurse Educator to facilitate continuous learning and improvement in quality standards. Additionally, you will oversee the Infection Prevention program to ensure best practices and compliance are maintained across our campus.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Improvement:

Plan, organize, and direct quality improvement systems, processes, and programs.
Evaluate and modify programs to enhance compliance with regulatory requirements and advance quality and infection prevention.
Set expectations for safety, quality, rights, choice, and respect, balancing these with resident-centered care.
Ensure staff accountability and create an environment where staff can identify and address quality issues.
Collect and analyze data to validate and improve established outcomes.

Infection Prevention:

Collaborate with leadership to track, investigate, and monitor adverse events.
Use Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence of incidents.
Work with leadership and health services team to prevent the spread of infections within licensed buildings and campus.
Investigate possible exposures and outbreaks, conduct contact tracing, and develop prevention and containment strategies.
Collaborate with health departments and agencies on disease investigation and prevention strategies.
Develop reports and analyze infection rates and prevention strategies.
Perform audits of electronic health records to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Support and Collaboration:

Provide backup support to Nurse Managers and Resident Care Coordinator.
Act as a stand-in during the absence of a Nurse Manager or Resident Care Coordinator.
Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in Long Term Care.
Current RN License.
Current CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with EMR systems, preferably MatrixCare.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments.
Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations requiring safety precautions.
