MKD Electric is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Helper. As part of this role...
What you will do...
- Assist welders and fabricators with various tasks in the shop
- Prepare materials for welding and fabrication by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
- Loading and cutting sheets on plasma table
- Loading and cutting materials with automatic bandsaw
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Assisting with measurements and installation when needed
- Assisting with assembly (bolting parts together)
- Prime and paint parts
- Perform other duties as assigned by Lead
What you will need to succeed...- Basic understanding of welding and fabrication processes
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to driving Forklift
- Ability to use overhead crane
- Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery
- Ability to take accurate and reliable measurements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
- Previous experience spray painting is a plus

- Must be able to lift to 20-30 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
- Must be able to remain stationary position for extended periods of time, prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
- Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
- Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors.
