The Solar Operations Center Manager will manage a team of ROCC Operators and Data Analysts ensuring all assets are running efficiently and optimally. We are moving to a brand new ROCC and need someone who can help transition and set up our new state of the art ROCC. The position is based out of Denver.


ROCC Manager: The ROCC Manager will help build the control center that monitors and operates the renewable energy production facilities. Through building and managing a viable business plan and budget, they will design, order, and manage the facility, equipment, and personnel required for the operation of the control center. The manager will hire, train and support personnel who will facilitate day to day operations for the ROCC. This position manages and supports daily operations of the renewable energy control center. Supports reporting/settlement duties for the company's generation projects and third-party generation projects. Monitor, schedule, and manage company operations within the ROCC facility. This position ensures CIP compliance throughout the ROCC and ensures safety and reliability standards are met/exceeded.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Build out our new operations center through hiring, developing and setting strategy for the team
  • Oversee SCADA development and Data analytics, Customer reporting, Asset management, dispatching, trouble shooting and other efforts to help increase the productivity of the all field assets
  • Manage & Schedule the team that is responsible to monitor and operate solar and storage assets from our Denver, CO remote operations center with coverage 24/7 in accordance with operational protocols
  • Coordinate with Field Operations, Engineers, Vendors and Customers in order to operate the fleet safely and effectively
  • Recruit, develop and train the Remote Operations team
  • Manage and coach team members to meet objectives and goals
  • Ensure that SCADA applications and other fleet wide tools are meeting the needs of the team
  • Draft and implement operational protocols in collaboration with Field Operations, Customers and support teams
  • Reviewing, updating and creating new strategies to ensure the accuracy of real-time power generation output
  • Monitor inclement weather patterns and anticipating upcoming issues due to various weather impacts
  • Directly switching electrical substations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of Remote Operations experience preferred
  • A high level of understanding with SCADA and Networking systems
  • In depth knowledge of NERC CIP requirements/regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of both Renewable Energy power plant operations and the equipment used within those Energy generating sites
  • Previous Management experience
  • Must communicate and collaborate well within a large team and field personnel
