Our client, a trade association based in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Director of State Government Affairs to lead the SGA initiatives!
About the Job:
- Prepare strategies and conduct research to determine the positions on state legislation and regulations.
- Spearhead advocacy initiatives on state issues related to energy efficiency, environmental standards, and certifications.
- Build and manage relationships with state legislators and their staff to influence policy decisions.
- Participate in state coalitions to stay on top of industry trends and concerns.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to monitor state legislative developments and implement appropriate responses.
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in a trade association or government agency are required.
- A bachelor's degree in public policy, government relations, or related is required; a graduate or law degree is preferred.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with members and external parties.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in the Arlington, VA office; opportunities to travel.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $145K-$155K, depending on experience
