Position Summary
Learn all the on boarding skills to successfully transition into an operational role when the opportunity becomes available. Learn the key components of the mill and the operational process flow. Clean the main process building by shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, and disposing of debris. Provide outside yard cleanup and support. Seeks opportunities to decrease waste and improve sustainability throughout the mill. Entry role will be limited in time until a position is available in production. Transitioning To other production positions will follow the Crystal Hill Job Bid Policy.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Rotate and learn the operational activities of the entire process
a) Train for operational assistance on the Green End and Warehouse
b) Provide assistance for Operational Fill-In and Vacation Coverage
c) Weekend duties for housekeeping and operational development
2. Cleans main process building.
a) Sweeps, vacuums, and shovels debris and material in the operational mill.
b) Helps to sweep, blow down, and pick up on the forming line, Geo Energy, and blending area.
c) Dumps totes in waste chutes.
d) Blows down equipment and sweeps floor.
3. Maintains Geo energy area by cleaning equipment and removing sludge. Supports down day by cleaning the WESP units and associated equipment.
4. Learn to complete operational PM's which will include safety inspections, fire protection inspections, and environmental inspections. Complete site safety and housekeeping audits.
5. Learn to complete facility fire inspections, and maintain housekeeping of the Fire Building and Confined Space Building.
6. Maintains grounds.
a) Light painting.
b) Helps pick up and dispose of trash around the mill.
c) Storm Water Inspections and Clean up
7. Develop the skills to properly inspect and operate manlifts, forklifts, loaders, sweeper, and other mobile equipment.
8. Notifies Shift Supervisor and/or Maintenance Department of any equipment problems.
Competencies
Employee must learn and observe applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by the Plant Utility Lead. This description covers the significant duties of the job, but may not include occasional assignments which would be within the evaluation of this job.
Physical Requirements
Works both inside and outside the main process building exposed to heat, noise, resin/wood dust, rain, and other elements. Uses brooms, air hoses, shovels, gas powered floor sweepers, and other hand held tools, company dump truck, and fire extinguisher.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.
