Your role:

As a Cloud Architect, you will design, implement, and optimize Ardent Mill's cloud computing infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting and deploying scalable, highly available, cost-effective and fault-tolerant cloud solutions that align with our business objectives and ensure seamless integration with our existing systems. This role is vital in technical discussions with multi-functional teams, creating solutions that ultimately lead to better products and working environments.

Your responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust, cost-effective cloud architecture designs.
  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot issues across Cloud, Servers, Virtual Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and other core infrastructure services.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using technologies like Terraform and Bicep.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, networking, and engineering teams, to ensure successful cloud adoption and operations.
  • Use monitoring tools to optimize performance, cost, and availability of cloud resources.
  • Ensure security through proper certificate and secret management across on-prem and cloud.
  • Act as point of contact and oversee vendor partner relationships.
  • Create and maintain documentation for standard Technical Support policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Lifecycle management of server hardware, including coordination and occasional travel to locations across North America.
  • Participate in an after-hours support rotation.

Above all, you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance, and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.

Essential skills and experience:
  • 5+ years experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer.
  • Expert knowledge of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows server operating systems and Active Directory.
  • Thorough knowledge of Entra ID, federation, and single sign-on.
  • Knowledge of Conditional Access Policies and MFA.
  • Knowledge of Azure backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Understanding of networking technology.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for on-prem and cloud
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly document processes
  • Experience training and mentoring junior team members


Good to have:
  • Experience with data lake and lakehouse architectures, including Databricks.
  • Experience with SCCM.
  • Experience or Training in Design Thinking.
  • Experience with robotics, AI, and machine learning.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate's unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $98,700.00 - $131,667.80, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 15% Annual.
