Job Details
In this position, you will:
- Act as a project manager and leader for environmental planning and permitting initiatives.
- Draft and compile various CEQA and NEPA documentation.
- Oversee the creation of Categorical Exemptions, Initial Studies/Mitigated Negative Declarations, and Environmental Assessments.
- Collaborate with other team leaders and project delivery teams to secure and execute projects.
- Mentor and guide junior technical staff, ensuring quality control of technical work products, including CEQA and NEPA documentation.
- Provide advice to project managers on technical issues, involving coordination with subject matter experts, that may necessitate scope changes and additional fees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with technical subconsultants during proposal and project phases.
- Foster a collaborative environment to support client needs and company objectives.
- Engage in strategic efforts to expand and diversify the environmental planning practice.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelors degree in environmental studies, science, planning, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in preparing CEQA and NEPA documents, with a demonstrated ability to manage increasingly complex projects.
- Knowledge of current planning laws and practices.
- A proven ability to develop new client relationships and manage existing ones effectively.
- Self-awareness, self-regulation skills, and a growth-oriented mindset.
- A willingness and capability to work within a team setting.
- Experience in preparing CEQA and NEPA documents.
- Familiarity with Caltrans Local Assistance Program guidelines.
