****ABOUT THE DELIVERY DRIVER JOB****
**DELIVERY DRIVER SUMMARY**
This position is responsible for delivery of customer orders.
**THE CORE DUTIES OF THE DELIVERY DRIVER**
* Strive for 100% on-time delivery of customer orders.
* Follow customer specific shipping instructions.
* Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
* Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
* Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
* Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
* Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles manually, with pallet jacks, and with forklifts. Loads consist of up to 36 pallets per day. Includes manually lifting boxes of up to 50 pounds up to 15-20 times per day.
* Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
* Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
* Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
* Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
* Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
* Obtain proof of delivery at time of each delivery.
* Other duties as required.

Requirements ****JOB DESIRABLES AND REQUIREMENTS****
**Education/Experience:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Air brake endorsement on license.
* At least 1 year of consistent experience driving delivery trucks and vans.
* At least 1 year experience driving sit down and stand up forklifts.
* Previous experience using MRP systems for shipping and receiving functions.
* RF gun experience.
* Good driving record.
* Basic computer skills.
* Basic math skills.
