We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective and fiscally sound food service operation, while ensuring safe and sanitary conditions in accordance with applicable standards, policies, laws and regulations. The successful candidate must commit to a flexible unrestricted schedule ensuring high visibility and availability.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining quality, service standards and profitability of all food service operations within Collin College.
  • Responsible for creating the budget, monitoring and analysis of the P & L statements; responsible for the maintenance of all necessary records (production, supervisory, fiscal, etc.).
  • Handle large sums of cash on a daily basis and follow all applicable state and college policies and procedures regarding the proper handling of cash.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing requirements and other personnel related matters in the food service areas in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, labor contracts and budgeting constraints.
  • Evaluate staff training needs. Develop and conduct or delegate training assignments.
  • Determine work schedule and assignments for all retail facilities.
  • Hold staff accountable for completing assignments on time, meeting expectations of their job descriptions and following specific direction.
  • Ensure proper communication among all retail employees by providing expectations, setting goals and objectives and scheduling frequent meetings with all levels.
  • Contribute to menu planning based on knowledge of proper nutrition and customer preference including the provision for gluten free diets, low salt and/or healthy options and the usage of local products.

  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage/supervise a large food services unit including at least five (5) years supervisory experience in a high-volume food retail establishment


Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises, gases and workspace restrictions. In addition, incumbents may be subjected to vibrations, chemicals and oils. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Occasional physical effort required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. HRI, hospitality, management or culinary) from an accredited institution.
At least five (5) years demonstrated experience in managing a multi-unit food service operation at the level of manager or higher.

Licenses and Certifications
Certified Food Manager or ServSafe certified.

Valid Texas Driver's License* and insurability with the college's insurance carrier.

*Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin College. Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the results of the report.*
