The Desktp Support Technician will support system and technical support needs in order to enhance administrative and instructional technology matters.

Essential Duties:

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in a timely manner.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technology problems for end-users and implement corrective solutions.
  • Collaborate with Network Services to troubleshoot LAN hardware and software as needed.
  • Ensure the continuous efficiency of all hardware, software, and connected devices by performing necessary administrative tasks.
  • Maintain an inventory of necessary components and equipment.
  • Receive and respond to incoming communications to include but not limited to calls and/or emails regarding technology hardware and software related issues.
  • Provide technical training as needed and utilize effective time management skills.
  • Assist school representatives in technical troubleshooting as needed.
  • Participate in professional learning activities and training sessions, seek certifications, and stay abreast of leading edge technology in support of job responsibilities.
  • Complete job responsibilities during off-peak hours as needed and approved by supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with school and district-level personnel to ensure the position's activities support the school system's objectives.
  • Maintain a sufficient level of knowledge regarding relevant technical, educational, and legal topics to enable highly efficient, effective, and lawful management of the position's duties.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as directed by the Executive Director of Technology Operations, Coordinator of Technology Operations, or Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with educators at all school system levels.
  • Monitor, manage, and route work orders in the ticket system.
  • Follow established procedures regarding assignment and training of all inventory.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
  • A+ certification preferred.
  • Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows, Chrome, and IOS operating systems.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot administrative and instructional software is preferred.
  • Experience working in an educational setting, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all educators, students, and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • May require using a ladder, climbing ladder to building mezzanine, working under a desk or table, using hand tools, and operating vehicles or equipment owned by the district.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
