Astellas is announcing a Facilities Warehouse Technician opportunity at their Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.

Purpose:

The Facilities Warehouse Technician reports to the Facilities Management Lead, Research, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the AIRM non-GMP Warehouse. This individual performs a variety of duties including shipping/receiving, supply ordering and forecasting, warehouse organization, stocking of satellite stock rooms and labs, and assists with building and equipment maintenance support within a biological lab environment. The incumbent should be a motivated self-starter who is a highly organized, detail oriented, client focused, and creative problem solver.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and warehousing of laboratory stock materials and equipment.
  • Shipping, international and domestic, of non-GMP laboratory supplies and biological materials.
  • Maintain stock levels of non-GMP laboratory supplies using a KanBan system.
  • Generate Purchase Orders upon request using Excel-based forms.
  • Meet with end users for material onboarding, GLP-study requests and other support.
  • Replenish stocks in the satellite stock rooms and laboratories on a daily basis.
  • Deliver special order packages to recipients.
  • Other duties as needed.
Quantitative Dimensions:
  • Direct impact to Facilities, Research, and Technical Operations operating budgets.
  • Direct impact to cost of goods through strategic purchasing.
  • Direct impact to Research and Technical Operations research objectives.
Organizational Context:
  • Reports to the Facilities Management Lead, Research.
  • Partners with Research, Technical Operations and EHS and other groups to improve processes and asset performance.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • 1-2 years' experience in procurement/supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service with a drive to provide solutions for requests made by teams.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Preferred:
  • Experience with SAP/Ariba and Vendor Managed Inventory systems, preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical experience, preferred.
  • An associate degree in business administration, supply chain management or a similar field, bachelor's degree preferred.
