The Role:

The Director of Apex Care & Development (ACD) is responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience by building and maintaining relationships with Apex Care Professionals and Host Families. The ACD successfully onboards new placements and supports families to be great household employers, coaching them and helping them put systems in place for a successful match.


As a placement manager, the ACD maintains monthly contact with both Care Professionals and families serving as a resource, offering mediation and valuable advice for families on how to manage and retain their Care Professional for as long as possible while also monitoring for compliance with the regulations guiding the program. In addition, the ACD mentors and coaches the Care Professional to achieve their own personal and professional goals and implement the Apex Individualized Care Plan. The ACD builds a book of business in their region by promoting referrals, extensions, and customer retention.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every touch point.
  • Build a relationship with each Care Professional starting when they match with a Family in your area. Engage with them regarding their personal and professional goals and Apex Individualized Care Plan.
  • Conduct coaching calls at least once per month with each Care Professional throughout the duration of their US placement.
  • Onboard Host Families before the placement start date, preparing them to be great household employers and helping them implement systems for a successful match.
  • Maintain monthly contact throughout the placement to act as a resource to the host parents, offering them valuable advice on how to manage and retain their Care Professional for as long as possible. Engage with them monthly regarding their Apex Individualized Care Plan (AICP).
  • Lead placement change management with the goal of 100% customer retention for qualified Host Families and Care Professionals.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop Community Liaisons in your region that host creative meet-ups for Care Professionals to give opportunities for engagement.
  • Act as a Local Community Liaison in your local community
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team culture by demonstrating professional communication and collaboration at all times with Apex team members, host families, and Care Professionals.
  • Continuously improve Apex processes to prevent recurring issues in the future.
  • On-call manager duties one week per month and one holiday per year.


Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership or management experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Understanding of the special needs community and the needs and challenges of parents with special needs preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial minded - eager to grow a book of business.
  • Demonstrated interest in travel abroad and cultural exchange.
  • Great people connector with a passion for engaging and having fun.
  • Skilled at mediation, listening, and staying calm in the face of conflict.
  • Proficient at using technology and social media for networking and staying organized
  • Bachelor s Degree required.
  • Fluent in English & German.
  • Proven ability to work as a team player and a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to work in a virtual environment via telecommuting over high-speed internet access in a quiet and dedicated workspace free from background noise such that the performance of duties is done most professionally.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Consistent, positive attitude.
  • Bilingual in German & English preferred, but not required.
