Share this Career Posting: Our Servers Assistant/Food Runner is responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Hotel Forty Five service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Server Assistant/Food Runner supports front of the house service staff to ensure all areas function effectively. Responsible for general table maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant in accordance to specification, in a courteous and efficient manner. Transportation of prepared food from Kitchen to designated outlet as well as retrieving of dirty dishes.

**Essential Functions**

* Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service

* Responsible for setting tables, serving food orders and removing used plate ware and utensils

* Food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot

* Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience

* Polish glass ware, utensils, organize clean and soiled linen

* Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests

* Follow and complete procedures as they relate to In Room Dining (IRD), as needed

* Organize items and needs to be brought to room based on order, as needed

* Any other duties as requested by management

**Qualification Standards**

**Education & Experience**

* High School diploma or higher

* Previous hospitality experience preferred

* Excellent customer service skills

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

**Physical Demands**

* Ability to lift 20 pounds or more

* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

* Ability to communicate clearly

* Corrected vision to normal range

* Ability to work long hours as needed

**Mental Demands**

* Make sound judgments quickly

* Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines

* Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others

* Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community
