**Overview**


The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting duties with an emphasis in job cost accounting.


**Responsibilities**


**Specific responsibilities include:**


+ Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department including data and journal entries.


+ Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.


+ Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.


+ Reconciles customer accounts.


+ Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.


+ Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.


+ Performs other related duties as assigned including filing, scanning and record keeping.


+ Administrator of the following duties; credit applications, contracts, performance and payment bonds, certificate of insurances, licenses.


This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the AP Director.


**Qualifications**


**Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications**


+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting.


+ Knowledge of general financial accounting.


+ Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.


+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


+ Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others and follow supervisory instructions in a corporate environment.


+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.


+ Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.


+ Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.


+ Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.


**Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications**


+ Zero to two years of accounting experience.


**Travel Requirements**


+ 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.


**Physical/Work Environment Requirements**


+ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


+ Climbing stairs.


+ Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.


+ Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.


+ Quiet environment.


+ Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.


**Pay Range**


USD $57,500.00 - USD $76,800.00 /Yr.
