Base Salary $90-130kFIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNERJob DescriptionJob responsibilities include but not limited to:Read and interpret construction documents, i.e. drawings, specifications, and contracts. Design & layout of fire sprinkler systems using CAD software, specifically HydraCAD based in AutoCAD and/or Revit. Provide hydraulic calculations utilizing the HydraCAD suite of software. Provide fabrication material lists utilizing the HydraCAD suite of software. Working knowledge of current NFPA standards and the ability to apply those standards to the design/layout of fire sprinkler systems for the given building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features. Ability to survey and field check new or existing buildings for drawing accuracy or layout. Ability to coordinate the fire sprinkler system with other building trades and components. Work closely with the Design Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent to review and ensure project scope for each project is being met.Knowledge/Education: High School Diploma or GED (minimum), prefer 2-year associate degree or similar certificate program(s) NICET Level III or IV (Level II will be considered based on work experience)Work Experience: Prefer 5+ years of Fire Protection Contracting Design experience.Skills and Competencies: Proficient in AutoCAD (preferably in Revit as well), HydraCAD, and Microsoft Office. Visualizes 3D concepts to solve basic mathematical problems. Ability to travel (primarily local area) as needed.Physical Requirements: 85% office setting, including sitting, some bending/lifting, walking, and viewing. 15% driving
