Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals specializing in the design, development, and support of data warehousing and data mart systems. Provide technical leadership and foster team growth.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with various business units to identify their data requirements and create innovative solutions that align with the client's strategic goals.
- Architectural Design: Design and maintain sophisticated data models, including Star Schemas and Data Marts, to support advanced reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Technology Integration: Work closely with the Chief Enterprise Architect (CEA) to evaluate, adopt, and integrate new technologies in line with the client's technology strategy and roadmap.
- Project Management: Lead data warehouse projects from conception through implementation, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with project objectives.
- Consultation: Serve as a consultant to application teams, providing expert advice when new functionalities impact the data environment.
- Training & SME Role: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data tools and methodologies, offering training and guidance to team members.
- ETL Development: Architect and implement efficient ETL processes for the creation and maintenance of data marts.
- Automation & Documentation: Develop automated processes for database deployments and oversee comprehensive documentation efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Over 12 years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of complex data warehouse systems.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Industry Insight: Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is highly desired.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in process development.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and business/financial applications.
- Business Communication: Ability to translate business needs into efficient and effective database solutions.
- Data Modeling Expertise: Proficiency in Kimball data modeling techniques.
- Project Leadership: Strong project management and organizational skills.
