They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Translational Sciences to join their dynamic team in Southern California.


Position Overview:

The Director of Translational Sciences will play a critical role in bridging preclinical research and clinical development. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong scientific background and experience in translational research, biomarker discovery, and clinical trial design. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advancing small molecule therapies from the lab to the clinic, ensuring the successful translation of our innovative therapies into clinical applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Translational Sciences team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Develop and implement translational strategies to support the advancement of our small molecule pipeline.
  • Identify and validate biomarkers for patient selection, efficacy, and safety monitoring.
  • Design and oversee the execution of preclinical and early clinical studies to evaluate the pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology of small molecule candidates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial, to ensure seamless integration of translational efforts.
  • Serve as the translational science expert in external collaborations, partnerships, and regulatory interactions.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing scientific insights and recommendations to guide decision-making.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions, scientific publications, and presentations.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related field; M.D./Ph.D. or Pharm.D./Ph.D. preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in translational research within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in biomarker discovery, validation, and implementation.
  • Proven track record of successfully advancing small molecule therapies from preclinical research to clinical development.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines for translational studies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor scientific staff.
